I would be honoured to assist and guide you to design your memories for a lifetime be they Funerals, Baby Namings or Renewal of Vows.
Funerals
Funerals bring a great deal of sadness and no-one wants to think about the loss of a family member or friend. However a funeral service can help in many ways. It celebrates the life and achievements of the deceased. It can bring family and friends together to acknowledge the death and support each other. A funeral can also provide a time for people to say their final goodbyes to the deceased.
As a funeral celebrant I am committed to composing a funeral service with empathy and sensitivity. I will meet with you and your family to gather information to help me to write and conduct a meaningful ceremony that best captures and portrays the attributes of the deceased. I always encourage family members and friends to be involved in the ceremony. This can include a verse or poem reading or a personal tribute. I am able to assist you with all facets of the ceremony, including readings, music or visual tributes.
A memorial service can be held at anytime, and sometimes replaces a traditional funeral. At this type of service, the coffin is not present and the ceremony can be held in a place that is significant to the deceased and/or the family.
Scattering of a loved one’s ashes in a significant place may also be part of a memorial service. I am able to conduct a ceremony that is as informal or as formal as desired. The ceremony will be compassionate, sensitive and responsive to the wishes of the family.
Baby Namings
Naming ceremonies are very different from a baptism or christening. A naming ceremony is non-religious and represents a way of celebrating and welcoming the arrival of a new child into the family. It can also be a way of uniting step or adopted children into a family.
Naming ceremonies involve the important people in the child's life. Parents have the opportunity to ask other adults to play a supportive role to their child through to adult life (grandparents, godparents, mentors or supporters).
A naming ceremony does not have any legal status, but is a wonderful way of welcoming a child as they begin their journey through life. The ceremony can be a simple, relaxed event or a traditional ceremony honouring family history.
I will create a gentle and loving celebration that will be the first of many celebrations in your child’s life.
Renewal of Vows
This ceremony is to celebrate your marriage. You may wish to reaffirm your commitment to each other in a unique and personal ceremony. Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary or event. However, it is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of marriage to renew or reaffirm their vows.
I will assist you in selecting the content of your ceremony and together we will be creating a unique event that you and all your guests will remember.
